As the organizer of Modesliga 3rd season, Zeal Sports would like to thanks all the sponsors, team leaders and participants of Modesliga 3rd season which was concluded recently on 9th June 2012. It is so far our most successful season ever with 17 teams, approximate 400 participants, 7 sponsors and more than RM76,000.00 worth of prizes, lucky draw and vouchers given out to the teams and participants.
We also managed to enhance and raise the quality and standard of the league with new Modesliga website makeover, larger banners, PA system, projector, video recording of each session feature match and highlight, more players action photos, better newspaper coverage and etc.
And now we are once again proudly to bring you MODESLIGA 4TH SEASON which promise more new excitement and thrill. Below are the few key changes might require your attention.
CHANGE OF R&R ESPECIALLY ON THE ELITE PLAYERS DEFINITION
The latest R&R will be ready for circulation in the mid of July 2012. Participants are advise to carefully go through the R&R especially on the ELITE players definition.
SHORTEN THE LEAGUE PERIOD AND LEVERAGE OF THE STANDARD OF PLAY
After received countless feedback from the team leaders and participant in the 3rd season, we have decided to implement one of the two options stated below :
a) This option will shorten the league period and also leverage the standard of play. To divide the league into 2 DIVISIONS. Division One and Division Two. We will require at least 20 REGISTERED TEAMS. Each division will contain 10 teams. The top 10 teams of the final league standing of Modesliga 3rd season will be automatically allocated to the Division One. And the rest of the teams will be allocated to Division Two. All the new register teams will be automatically allocated to Division Two. Teams promotion to Division One and demotion Division Two will be apply before the beginning of the new season. The total of promoted and demoted teams will be confirm during the Captain Meeting.
b) This option will shorten the league period and BUT WILL NOT leverage the standard of play. To divide the league into 2 GROUPS. Team SEEDING will be done accordingly to the final league standing of Modesliga 3rd season. Round robin match play will be apply to each group and the scoring system current apply in the 3rd season will remain. After the group stage the SUDDEN DEATH pool system will be apply. Pool are also divided into 2 pools. Pool "A" will consist of teams from the top half of each group and pool "B" will consist of teams from the bottom half of each group.
Prizes will be given to either the division winners or pool winners. More details will be out soon.
TOTAL OF ELITE PLAYERS
It is heavily dependent of either the league is going to separate into DIVISIONS or GROUPS.
If the league successfully divided into 2 DIVISIONS, Division ONE are allow to have 3 ELITE players as for DIVISION TWO only 1 ELITE player.
If the league successfully divided into 2 GROUPS, the current total of 2 ELITE players per team will still remain.
TEAM AND PLAYER REGISTRATION PROCEDURE
The whole process of registration will be divided into 2 parts. Interested team will need to register their team by filling in the necessary information in the Team Registration Form with the deposit within the given period of time. This step is to enable us to make the decision either to separate the league into 2 DIVISIONS or 2 GROUPS.
Once we have decided, then team will need to submit all their players information as require in the Players Registration Forms. At this time, team will know how many ELITE players are allow in each team. Yes it will be as previous season, PHOTO of each players are required. Registration of the players will deem not complete without the PHOTO and all the necessary inform submitted.

The information required are NOT FINALIZE, as we may required more information to be provide by team. An advise from us, please do get the players photo completed as we experience in the previous season, few teams had face difficulty in gathering the photos.
WHERE YOUR TEAM WILL BE IF THE LEAGUE IS DIVIDED INTO 2 DIVISIONS.
Once the total of participate teams are confirm and it is more than 20 teams, the league will be divided into 2 DIVISIONS. By default the top 10 teams refer to the previous season league table will be allocated to DIVISION ONE. The remaining teams will be allocated to DIVISION TWO. Teams from DIVISION ONE and TWO are allow to request their team to change from the current DIVISION but with one condition there is another team requesting to change their current DIVISION. This request are under first come first serve basis.
For team which are no longer participate in the league could give permission to other team from one of the DIVISIONS or new team to replace them or the team in the 11 ranking will be automatically promoted to DIVISION ONE. If more top 10 teams withdraw from the league then the 12, 13 and so on ranking will be promoted.
All the new teams will be allocated to the DIVISION 2 by default.
OFFICIAL COMPLAINT FEE
In the 4th season, any official complaint regarding any issue on any other teams in the league will be submitted with a total amount of RM100.00 none refundable fee. In previous season, the organizer suffered a sum of none claimable expenses such as phone calls, car fuel, time and effort in trying to solve the issue.
The organizer will determine the exact fees if one complaint are issue by multiple teams or one complaint are against multiple teams.
PLAYER BANNED FOR PARTICIPATING IN MODESLIGA
Last season, we have received report that two of the spectator in two different occasions in Modesliga was verbally abuse by a participant/player. We are deeply sad and shock of such incident. We have gather evidence from eye witnesses and also the victims. Thus we have no choice but to imposed a LIFE BAN on this particular player. This mean this particular player are no longer welcome to participant in Modesliga or any event organized by Zeal Sports.
Such drastic move need to be taken. The objective of the sponsors is to get coverage and exposure of their brands, products, services and etc. If this player keep on abusing the spectators, be sure this spectator will never step into the badminton hall again to watch any Modesliga matches. Without these spectators how are the sponsors is going to get exposure? If the sponsors are not happy with the coverage or exposure in Modesliga, the sponsors might decide not to sponsor the league next season. Can the league survive without any sponsors? Is this fair to the organizer who have spend so much time and effort trying to build up the league and promoting badminton sport? This player will also indirectly affect the image of Modesliga Badminton League and also the badminton sports as a whole.
If there is such incident happen in the future, we would like to advise this individual to report to the organizer immediately. Vice versa, if there is any spectators misbehave against the players or other spectators.
We will inform everyone in advance on the team registration date. A details schedule on the registration process will be provided.
The 4th season is scheduled to start in the month of September or October 2012.
